Deakocan Weekly Courses in London with Osbanis & Anneta
6 weeks courses every Tuesday or Wednesday
Our 6 weeks programme offers the opportunity to take part in lively interactive classes, that progress from week to week. It gives you the chance to develop and broaden your dance skills through a wide range of classes. Each week we will focus on new subjects and repeat briefly coursework from previous week to build up on the level & confidence.
We are offering 2 courses:
Tuesday – 8:00-10:00pm- 6 weeks, starting on the 07/05/2013- 11/06/2013- Deakocan Fusion- incl.life percussion sessions! AfroCuban and Rumba applied to Salsa. This course will focus on the ability of blending Salsa with Rumba and AfroCuban movement, both in tiempo and contra tiempo, and feeling comfortable to use them freely in your social dance. You will learn how to enrich your style and technique in social dancing and appreciate the music through communication in movement. The important element will be musical interpretation and ability to express La Clave in your style and focus more on melody line. Incorporated in the course life percussion will help to understand better the rhythms & musicality of all the presented moves and dances & will give you experience and confidence to recognize the importance of each instrument in Cuban music & to be able to identify them. The content and structure is similar to the Wednesday course, but in a slower pace, as on Wednesday course we will also introduce many new movements and dances with elements of Rumba, AfroCuban, Son, Chachacha, AfroSonCha, Casino partner work, Rueda de Casino, Rueda con Afro and other traditional Cuban dances.
Location:The O2 Centre Finchley Road, next to Finchley Road tube station, London NW3 6LU. Wednesday- 8-10pm- 6 weeks, starting on the 08/05/2013- 12/06/2013- Dance Deakocan- incl.life percussion sessions! This course will focus on developing & spicing up your style further, to explore your freedom of movement, incorporate elements of Cuban dances and movements in Salsa, and of course as always strongly focusing on musical interpretation. Incorporated in the course life percussion will help to understand better the rhythms & musicality of all the elements: Rumba, AfroCuban, Yoruba, Orishas, Son, Chachacha, AfroSonCha, Casino partner work, Rueda de Casino and other traditional Cuban dances like Mozambique, Pilon, Yuca, Makuta etc. you will understand better the music & learn about the response to the music, and deepen your musical interpretation skills. This course is for advanced & experienced dancers. Location: The O2 Centre Finchley Road, next to Finchley Road tube station, London NW3 6LU.
